My king room was newly decorated, greatly enjoyed it. It had a marvellous location not far from Bellagio and the Alps, the other tourist attractions, and Como lake...

This place is located in a stunning area near the lake, with plenty of activities and restaurants nearby, also a large mosque is just 2 km away.

Everything was excellent, well experienced stuff, breathtaking views across the lake. The room was newly decorated and nicely furnished, the bed was comfortable, really enjoyed it. The food was excellent and the bar was good. The location was stunning, near to Bellagio and the other tourist attractions, Menaggio on business, and the restaurant. Furthermore, prepared to take the winding trek down hill first.

The view was sensational. Staff were fantastic. Room was very good and new. Restaurant was excellent and the waiter (Mario) was exceptional. Best value for money we spent on our trip. Great pick off the internet by me!
It was hard to find and check in was only late afternoon.

Very helpful staff and the welcome was very warm and understanding after a difficult drive from Milan. Our room was kept very clean and maintained in an unintrusive manner. Nice touches such as replenished fresh fruit, water and soft drinks in our enhanced our stay. Breakfast is a combijnation of mountain food (salami!) and custard cake and other sweet treats. The dining menu was largely fish based (not my choice, but definately my wife's) and the food was extremely well prepared. Locals used the resturant too, especially at weekends, which is an endorsement in itself. Wine list was very good too.
We went in early September and it was still very warm. Not really a complaint that I can fault the hotel with, but the mosquitos dined well too as we tended to close the shutters, but not the windows. Airconditioning may be something that would make this very lovely hotel even more comfortable.

The fantastic views and the welcoming and friendly staff. The generally peaceful surroundings. Reasonably well-positioned for visits to a number of interesting sites, such as Varenna, nice walks, or trips into the mountains
We were there during a very hot spell and the lack of air-conditioning made things uncomfortable - too hot to sleep at nights - definitely a necessity. The evening meal was good, but expensive for what it was. In general, the hotel was a little expensive for the facilities offered (E.G. no swimming pool).

What a find !!. There are only 3 rooms but each one is a suite with 3 rooms (bedroom / bathroom and hall) A large bowl of mixed fruit greets you and the fridge contained water and soft drinks all complimentary. It is difficult to find but the views over Lake Como are fantastic when you get there. Breakfast / Dinner are served on the terrace and you are treated to the services of Marlow who could not do enough to ensure you were treated very specially during your stay The food was excellent. We stayed there on the way home and the return visit was as good as our first visit

Spectacular view, close and personal service, excellent food and large room.
If you are driving, the front approach is challenging and if you have a fear of heights, close your eyes. There is a back way up to the hotel and should be put on the hotel site - or else you will need a large "shot of grappa" when you arrive to calm the nerves. But worth it for the view and staff

Croto di Gittana is a very pleasant and cosy spot, offering a breathtaking view over the Como lake. Located very close to Varenna city (about 10 minutes by car), is appropriate for those people who want to be in the "heart" of Como lake, means the most beautiful cities in the centre of the lake: Varenna, Bellagio, Menagio, Tremezzo aso. The rooms was very large and comfortable, furnished in solid wood and obviously, overlooking the Como lake. The mini bar and fruits were offered for free for the guests (which is very nice...). Regarding the food...it was excellent, beyond our expectations. We eat at the restaurant hotel almost every night because we wanted to try all the dishes in the menu:): local fish (fish pate, lake fish), pasta, salami, local cheeses, sweets aso. A good selection of the Italian wines and Mauro, as a perfect and welcoming host, offered us every night some specialties such us: grappa, limoncello or prosecco for dessert. We took the breakfast on the terrace with lake view and dinner, depending on the weather: inside or at the outside terrace. Briefly, a great location and one of the most beautiful panorama in the world! I highly recommend Crotto di Gittana for anyone travelling to Lake Como area.
